Layunin nito na mas palawakin ang kasanayan ng mga miyembro ng Albay Tourism Advisory Council (ALTAC) at Local Government Units (LGUs) patungkol sa sustainable tourism practices. Ito ay bahagi ng selebrasyon ng World Tourism Day 2024 na may temang “Tourism and Peace”, na naglalayong isulong ang turismo sa iba’t ibang panig ng bansa.

Ayon kay Provincial Nutrition Program Coordinator, Nutritionist-Dietitian III, Roan Mae Ofalsa, lubos ang kanilang pasasalamat sa lahat ng tumulong para makamit ang inaasam na titulo. “This is not just an achievement of the Provincial Health Office, yung nangyari pong evaluation, lahat ng offices natin particularly PPDO, PBO, APSEMO, PSWDO, APAO, DILG – Albay, DepEd – Albay, PAccO, naging close yung coordination natin sa mga ito, sobrang thorough yung monitoring and evaluation, and sa kanila kami sumangguni when it comes to supporting documents sa implementation ng nutrition programs,” saad ni Ofalsa. Asahan pa aniya ang mas pina-igting na mga programa para malabanan ang paglobo ng malnutrisyon sa lalawigan. “Tuloy tayo, mayroon tayong Provincial Nutrition Action Plan, every year yun ina-update, it is anchored sa Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition as well as sa RPAN, may iba’t iba tayong nutrition-specific, nutrition sensitive and enabling programs para sa mga Albayano, this year nagsisimula na ulit yung ating Karendirya Supplementalary Feeding Program na kini-cater ang undernourished children, as well as nutritionally at-risk pregnant and lactating mothers,” dagdag pa ng opisyal.

Nakatakdang dumating ang SGLG National Validators na sina LGOO V Francis Gabriel Juaton, at LGOO II Engr. Jeza Sumayod. Ayon kay Gov. Grex Lagman, kumpiyansa siyang magbubunga ang lahat ng pagsusumikap ng bawat departamento at executive department para sa matagal ng hangaring ito lalo na ang pagbibigay ng maganda at dekalidad na serbisyo sa mga Albayano. “The PGA’s relentless pursuit of its worthy goals in all areas in governance will soon bear fruit,” bahagi ng pahayag ni Gob. Lagman. Ang SGLG na igina-gawad ng DILG, ay isa sa pinaka-hinahangad na parangal; dahil ang bawat lokal na pamahalaan sa buong bansa ay dumadaan sa mahigpit na pagsusuri ng mga validators base sa sampung pamantayang ibinigay ng ahensya. Ang sampung pamantayan o criteria ay ang mga sumusunod: financial administration and sustainability, disaster preparedness, social protection and sensitivity, health compliance and responsiveness, sustainable education, business-friendliness and competitiveness, safety, peace and order, environmental management, tourism, heritage development, culture and arts, at ang youth development. Maaalalang nnoong Agoste 7 ay ginanap ang Regional SGLG Summit na dinaluhan ng mga gobernador, alkalde at mga representante ng anim na probinsya sa rehiyong Bikol at inihayag ang kahandaan ng bawat lokal na pamahalaan sa pagtataguyod ng maayos at dekalidad na serbisyo publiko.

By CMDacoro, Albay PIO   LEGASPI CITY — The Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Albay (SPA) has approved the city ordinance for the establishment of Barangay Reading Centers in all barangays of Tabaco City. This was accomplished through the passage of Provincial Resolution No. 1310-2024, which declares as valid and operative City Ordinance No. 8-051 s. 2024 of Tabaco City, titled “Creating Barangay Reading Centers in All Barangays of Tabaco City and Appropriating Funds Thereof, Subject to Applicable Laws, Rules, and Regulations.” The ordinance was authored by ABC President and Board Member Hisham B. Ismail. The establishment of these centers is in line with Republic Act No. 7743, otherwise known as “An Act Providing for the Establishment of Congressional, City, and Municipal Libraries and Barangay Reading Centers throughout the Philippines, Appropriating the Necessary Funds Therefor, and for Other Purposes.” Barangay Reading Centers serve as vital community hubs, fostering literacy and promoting lifelong learning among residents and learners. This initiative will help address the educational and cultural needs of Filipinos, contributing to national development.

Pagpasok ng mga investors sa lalawigan,inaasahan By MLQuising, Albay PIO LEGASPI CITY,Albay – Kumpiyansa ang lalawigan ng Albay na mas maraming mga investors ang papasok at mamuhunan sa lalawigan. Kasunod ito ng muling pag-angat ng Albay sa ranking at makapasok sa Top 10 ng 2024 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index sa katatapos pa lamang na Philippine Creative Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Congress na ginanap noong Agosto 23, 2024, sa Manila Hotel. Ngayong taon, nasa ranked 9th ang Albay, at ang tanging lalawigan sa Bicol na nakapasok sa Top 10. Taong 2022 ay nasa ika-14 na pwesto ang lalawigan habang nasa ika-11 naman noong 2023. Ayon kay Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion Office (LEDIPO) na pinamumunuan ni LEDIP Officer Jaymee Florence E. Ribaya, maliban sa malaking karangalan na natanggap dahil sa prestihiyusong pagkilala, malaki aniya ang dadalhin nitong mga investors sa lalawigan. Binigyang-diin ng opisyal na dahil sa parangal na ito na mapabilang sa Top 10 bilang globally competitive province, makikita ang kahandaan ng Albay partikular na pagdating sa usapin ng economic dynamism, government efficiency, infrastructure, resiliency, at innovation na siyang basehan ng nasabing ranking sa buong bansa. By AJEspiritu, Albay PIO LEGASPI CITY,Albay — The Provincial Government of Albay (PGA) is all set for the upcoming Albay Loop 2024, which will take place from August 23 to 25 at the Old Airport in Legazpi City. The Albay Loop is a motorcycle event organized by Loop Ph, in partnership with Philippine Motorcycle Tourism, with the goal of promoting tourism in Albay and advocating safe riding practices. In preparation for the event, 2nd District Board Member Melissa Abadeza-Armedilla led a coordination meeting with all relevant PGA offices and local government units (LGUs) in Albay to clarify their roles in ensuring the safe and successful execution of the event. Abadeza-Armedilla encouraged setting up booths at the airport to showcase and sell various Albay products. She also advised LGUs to prepare presentations to welcome participants upon their arrival in different localities and to coordinate closely with barangay councils. To ensure the safety and security of all participants, the Provincial Health Office (PHO) will deploy ambulance vehicles, particularly to assist VIP guests such as Sen. JV Ejercito, as requested by Loop Ph. Additionally, the board member sought the support of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Army to maintain a strong police presence at the event and to manage the security plan and traffic arrangements.              

VIGA,Catanduanes– As the Rice Granary of Catanduanes, the municipality of Viga recently held in full display the 12th Paray Festival Street Dance Competition in honor of their rich agricultural heritage, bounty, and traditions, on August 14, 2024 This year’s competition featured the participation of four clustered barangays, each bringing their unique flair and energy with their representation of the Paray (Rice) Festival theme. In a colorful display, here are the clusters that emerged as top performers: Champion: Cluster 4 (Interior) – Summit, Oco, Burgos, Roxas, Sagrada, Osmeña, Quezon, Almojuela 1st Runner-up: Cluster 3 (Poblacion) – Peñafrancia, San Jose (Pob.), San Pedro, San Vicente, San Isidro, Asuncion 2nd Runner-up: Cluster 1 (Coastal) – Villa Aurora, Tinago, Botinagan, Soboc, Buenavista, Tambongon, Begonia, Quirino, Magsaysay, Batohonan Consolation Prize: Cluster 2 (Rinconada) – San Roque Special awards were also given, with Cluster 1 (Coastal), receiving 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗺𝗲, and Cluster 4 (Interior) earning Best in Moving Choreography.
