Sa kabuuan, nakumpiska mula sa mga operasyon ang 145.79 gramo ng shabu at 26.31 gramo ng marijuana, na may tinatayang halaga na P994,529.20. Ayon kay PBGen Paul Kenneth T Lucas, Regional Director PRO 4A, ang operasyon ay bahagi ng kanilang mas pinaigting na kampanya laban sa ilegal na droga sa rehiyon alinsunod sa direktiba ng pangulo na hulihin at panagutin ang mga sangkot sa iligal na droga maging maliliit na pusher o street level individuals. “Ang mga seryeng ito ng matagumpay na operasyon ay nagpapakita ng determinasyon ng ating kapulisan na sugpuin ang ilegal na droga sa bawat komunidad,” dagdag ni RD Lucas. Hinimok ng PNP ang patuloy na kooperasyon ng mamamayan sa pagsusumbong ng mga kahina-hinalang aktibidad upang mapanatili ang kapayapaan at kaayusan sa buong CALABARZON. Ang mga naarestong suspek at mga nakumpiskang ebidensya ay kasalukuyang nasa kustodiya ng kapulisan ng PRO CALABARZON para sa wastong dokumentasyon at pagsasampa ng kaukulang kaso sa ilalim ng RA 9165 o ang Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Senator Alan Peter Cayetano on Tuesday urged the Department of Transportation (DOTr) to take a closer look at Laguna Lake and explore its potential as a major driver of development and connectivity across Luzon. During the Commission on Appointments’ ad interim appointment for Vince Dizon as the new Transportation Secretary on June 3, Cayetano revisited a vision they had previously discussed. This vision aims to decongest Metro Manila by promoting development in surrounding areas such as Laguna Lake. “Pakitingnan nang mabuti y’ung Laguna Lake. Buong Singapore ay kasya [diyan] at kung maayos lang [ay malaki ang potential],” he said. Cayetano has consistently raised this call, especially during the Senate Committee on Finance’s deliberations on the proposed 2025 national budget where he urged concerned agencies like DOTr and Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to conduct thorough studies and consider creating a comprehensive development plan for the country’s largest lake. “I see the Laguna Lake. I see the authority, but where’s the development? Kasi LLDA y’on eh. Today ang major project pa rin lang ay yung fishponds pa rin,” he said. According to the Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA), the lake currently supports several important functions, including fisheries, flood control, power generation, irrigation, recreation, and domestic water supply. However, it faces serious ecological problems such as poor waste management, pollution, flooding, sedimentation, declining water quality, and loss of biodiversity. Cayetano said if done right, the development of Laguna Lake could become a long-term national investment. “Ilabas na sa Metro Manila yung development. Can you imagine if mabuhay iyon at ma-interconnect mo ang buong Rizal at buong Laguna? Of course kasama na yung parts ng Metro Manila,” he said.    

The Lucban Municipal Agriculture Office, headed by MA Sonia O. Catchuela, hosted an Orientation on the Palay Procurement Program at the Lucban Municipal Hall on May 28. The activity was an initiative of the Provincial Agriculture Office, under the leadership of Ana Clarissa S. Mariano, DVSM, EnP. The primary participants and beneficiaries of the program were members of the Samahan ng Magsasaka ng Palay sa Lucban, Quezon, a federation comprising rice farmers associations from 22 barangays in the municipality. The activity aimed to inform and prepare local farmers for effective participation in the National Food Authority’s (NFA) procurement programs. The orientation was facilitated by the Agri Enterprise Development and Marketing Division, led by Division Head Mr. Sherwin Deloraya and Marketing Unit Head Mr. Philip Aldwin Co. The session was conducted by Fernando Sanque, Assistant Branch Manager of NFA Lucena Quezon, along with NFA staff members and classificator. To qualify for participation in the NFA’s palay procurement program, farmer associations must meet several compliance and eligibility requirements. They are required to maintain an active bank account to facilitate all financial transactions. Additionally, these associations must be legally registered with either the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), or the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA). Furthermore, the palay to be sold must be newly harvested and properly dried, free from any pest infestation, and must comply with the 14% moisture content requirement set by the NFA. Additionally, the orientation featured a discussion on the Palay Marketing Assistance Program for Legislators and Local Government Units (PALLGU). This proposed initiative, supported by the presence of Municipal Councilor Hon. Reynante Abuyan, Chair of the Committee on Agriculture, is designed to assist local farmers through enhanced pricing and LGU-facilitated procurement strategies. The activity concluded with the partial composite sampling of palay from selected members of the federation. The remaining samples are scheduled for delivery to the NFA office on May 30, 2025.

Isa sa mga suspek ay nagpakita umano ng pekeng identification card ng “COMELEC Task Force Kontra Bigay” upang makapasok sa paaralan at nakuhanan pa ng larawan ang mga Automated Counting Machines (ACM). Ayon sa hepe ng Sta Cruz Municipal Police Station, nakipag-ugnayan sila sa COMELEC Provincial Office ng Laguna at napag-alamang hindi konektado sa COMELEC ang mga naturang suspek at walang awtorisasyon para magsagawa ng inspeksyon sa alinmang polling center sa nasabing lugar. Agad na inaresto ang mga suspek at dinala sa Santa Cruz Municipal Police Station para sa karampatang dokumentasyon at pagsasampa ng kaso. “Hindi natin hahayaang makalusot ang sinumang magtatangkang guluhin ang integridad ng ating halalan. Representative David “Jayjay” Suarez of the Quezon 2nd District, Tiaong Mayor Vincent Arjay Mea, and Alona Partylist hosted the campaign rally, and about six thousand people, including local candidates and supporters. Senatorial candidates were Lito Lapid, Benhur Abalos, Abby Binay, Francis Tolentino, Pia Cayetano, and Bong Revilla. They expressed their priority bills and programs once in the Senate. Lapid, Senate chairman on tourism, pledges to support the tourism program of Tiaong and the whole country, and he is also focusing other programs especially on job opportunities, education and health for Filipinos. He said that the local government unit is closed to him because he holds an LGU position such as a three-term governor, and one term as vice- governor in Pampanga. Lapid assured the full support of the LGU’s projects because he knew the ups and downs of the local government. Out of 900 bills he filed, 100 became laws, including the Lapid Law or the Free Legal Assistance Act. Lapid was popularly known as Leon Guerrero in his previous movies and “Supremo” in his recent TV series Batang Quiapo with Coco Martin, and consistently in the top five on the latest survey conducted by SWS and Octa Research.  

Maria Ahtisa Manalo,27, is a Filipino model, businesswoman, and beauty pageant titleholder, known for winning Binibining Pilipinas International 2018. She is also an entrepreneur, an LGBTQ+ advocate, and a social worker with the Alon Akademie, an organization that focuses on enriching children’s global citizenship, social skills, and entrepreneurial mindset.  Early Life and Pageantry: Born in Candelaria, Quezon, Philippines, on May 27, 1997.  She is of Finnish, Swedish, Spanish, and Filipina heritage.  Her journey in pageantry began with a victory in a local pageant in 4th grade to fund her education.  She represented Quezon Province in the Reyna ng Aliwan festival in 2017, where she placed 2nd runner-up.  She also won the Queen of Niyogyugan Festival the previous year.  In 2018, she won Binibining Pilipinas International and represented the Philippines at Miss International 2018, finishing as 1st runner-up.  Career: Ahtisa Manalo is a businesswoman, with a degree in Accountancy from Manuel S. Enverga University.  She runs cafes in Australia and is involved in creating and expanding food brands.  She is also an LGBTQ+ advocate and works with Alon Akademie.  She was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2025.  She will represent the Philippines at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Thailand.
