Globe empowers next generation of leaders, creators, and changemakers

NCR

Globe is taking real steps to support Filipino students through initiatives that spark passions, strengthen leadership skills, and prepare young people for a world that’s changing faster than ever. Students today are juggling a lot — classes, tech, social life, and figuring out who they want to be. Globe understands that being a telco today means more than just providing a signal. It is about being part of a student’s journey to discover their passion and build their future. Globe wants to help students find those passions and chase them without feeling lost in the noise. Globe offers a lot of ways for students to get involved in the Globe Community Builders Program. Students can unlock daily perks and essentials through the Student Rewards on the GlobeOne app. If students have big ideas, they can pitch them through Globe Student Grants on the Globe website— and the best ones can partner with Globe to bring their ideas to life. Students can pitch their organized events, projects, and connect with mentors, and take a more active role in shaping their communities. Internships are also available for those ready to start building their careers early. One example of this in action happened in May when Globe organized the Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts* led by the Marketing Youth Culture department. Student leaders from different high schools and universities were invited to special block screenings held in select Metro Manila, Nueva Ecija, Cagayan de Oro, and Davao cinemas. Apart from enjoying the movie, they were also given the opportunity to connect with Globe mentors and learn more about joining the Globe Community Builders Program, where they could take a more active role in leading projects, organizing events, and building their leadership skills. “Just like the heroes we see on screen, every student has the potential to rise, lead, and make a difference. Through Globe Community Builders Program, Globe is here to champion their dreams and stand with them every step of the way,” said Andrew James Lim, Lead for Marketing Youth Culture at Globe. Globe continues to move forward, solidifying its role as a true partner for students — helping them find their voice, chase their passions, and build a future they can proudly call their own. Because every student deserves someone in their corner as they step into who they are meant to become.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training

Region 3

Freeport stakeholders join the Mass Hands-only CPR training event organized by the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority –Public Health and Safety Department in cooperation with the Philippine Heart Association, Inc.-Central Luzon. The training was held at the Ayala Malls Harbor Point Mall on Wednesday, April 30. The participants were trained to respond to possible victims of cardiac arrest in the workplace. Hands-only CPR, or compression-only CPR, is designed to make CPR easier for untrained bystanders to perform in the event of a cardiac arrest. Its primary purpose is to maintain blood circulation to the brain and vital organs until professional medical help arrives. This is achieved through chest compressions, which help pump the remaining oxygenated blood throughout the body. The project is also supported by the Olongapo City Medical Society, the Philippine Academy of Family Physicians-Olongapo City Chapter and the Philippine College of Occupational Medicine-Olongapo City Chapter.

Mga Daloy ng Pag-endorso, Mga Dahilan para Maglingkod -Vergara

Baguio City, Inside Politics

GLADYS VERGARA

In this evolving landscape, LBC Express Incorporated has solidified its position as the Philippines’ leader in retail and corporate courier and cargo services, money remittance, and logistics solutions for the global Filipino. Its established reputation is reinforced by its extensive national presence and history of service and innovation. Founded in the 1950s as a modest brokerage and air cargo agent, LBC Express has evolved into a market leader, introducing Filipinos to express 24-hour door-to-door delivery, cargo shipping, and money remittance. Over the years, the company has continuously adapted to the fast-paced demands of the digital era, expanding into e-commerce, business, and payment solutions. Today, LBC Express not only specializes in logistics and remittance services but also plays a pivotal role in facilitating business and e-commerce transactions, bridging the gap between businesses and consumers. As LBC Express continues its trajectory of innovation, the importance of reliable connectivity in the logistics and remittance sectors becomes more evident. Senior Vice President and Head of IT, Alexander Francis “Alfie” Deato, emphasizes, “In today’s fast-paced environment, having a reliable connectivity provider is crucial for business operations. Whether it’s tracking deliveries, processing payments, or sending remittances, connectivity is key to meeting customer expectations.” He further highlights the growth of LBC’s services, noting, “When I first joined LBC Express 11 years ago, real-time updates were not standard practice. Today, they are a necessity. We must provide updates in real-time—or as close to real-time as possible—to ensure complete customer satisfaction.” LBC Express’ strategic partnership with Philippines’ leading fiber broadband and technology provider, Converge ICT Solutions Inc., has been integral in meeting the connectivity demands required to ensure seamless operations. Deato adds, “Converge being a full fiber connectivity allowed us to expand our many branches. We’ve been pushing Converge to expand outside Luzon which has helped us expand our fiber connectivity all the way to our remote branches in Visayas and Mindanao which gave us the ability to offer more online services to our customers. This expansion has enabled us to expand our services and become less reliant on offline solutions.” With over 1,500 branches and 200 hubs across the Philippines, LBC Express is able to provide seamless, cost-effective services, even in the most remote regions. This connectivity boosts not only logistics operations but also LBC’s e-commerce and payment solutions, giving businesses the tools needed to succeed in a competitive market.
