Zamboanga City’s National Most Wanted Person arrested in Davao de Oro

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – A farmer wanted for two counts of rape has been captured from his two-decade hiding place, after intelligence operatives of the Police Regional Office 9 tracked down his hideout in Davao de Oro on October 7.

PBGen.Elmer Ragay, regional director, identified the arrested suspect as Alyas Junior, 54, a resident of Purok 1-A, Barangay Cabidianan, Nabunturan, Davao De Oro.

According to Ragay, the suspect was listed as a National Top Most Wanted Person with a reward of P90,000, in connection with his two counts of rape case.

The suspect’s arrest was based on the service of warrant of arrest issued by

Honorable Judge Peter V Eisma of 9th Regional Trial Court, Zamboanga City, Branch 15, on December 28,2007 with no bail recommended.

‎The arrest of the suspect was led by LtCol Joemar Calud, chief CIU-ZCPO, together with personnel from RID9, Nabunturan MPS, Davao De Oro PPO/PRO11 led by PLtCol Gomersendo Diwata, II, Chief of Police, DDO-PMFC led by PLtCol Rocky John Dalida, Force Commander, 1ST ZCMFC, MARPSTA and RMU9.

During the service of warrant of arrest to the subject, PCMS Jeffrey L Vicente was the designated Arresting Officer (AO) and informed her of his constitutional rights under Miranda Doctrine, while PCpl Lexter C Ebol the designated Body Worn Camera and PCpl Jimboy V Macaso utilized Alternative Recording Device.

The arrested person is now under the temporary custody of Nabunturan MPS for initial documentation prior to being transported by land bound to Zamboanga City Police Office. (By Zaldy Comanda)
