War equipment stolen by rebels recovered in Cagayan

The police have cordoned off an area where various types of war equipment were hidden by rebels in the town of Peñablanca, Cagayan.

According to the Police Regional Office 2, the firearms, ammunition, explosives, and others were left and hidden by the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) in the area of ​​Sitio Pallay, Barangay Baliuag where an encounter took place on September 10, 2024.

The authorities traced their whereabouts with the help of Alyas Mimoy, a former rebel member who has now defected to the government.

Based on the inventory conducted by the police, among the items recovered in the area were 82 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, 33 pcs. of 5.56 mm ammunition, three empty 5.56 mm bullets, five defective M16 magazines, and one defective AK 47 magazine.

Additionally, one hand grenade, six rifle grenades, two Two pcs bandoliers and one black garrison belt, two upper receivers of M14 and two lower receivers of M14 along with one Caliber 38 gun without serial number, subversive documents, and others.

The successful operation was the result of the joint efforts of the 1st Cagayan Provincial Mobile Force Company in collaboration with the Philippine Army, Philippine Coast Guard, and other units of the PNP.
