Police authorities in Central Visayas scored a major breakthrough in their anti-criminality drive with the arrest of a top 6 Most Wanted Person listed in regional level with the suspect wanted for a murder case and had long eluded law enforcement until his capture on the evening of May 6, 2025.

The arrest was carried out by operatives of the San Remigio Municipal Police Station (MPS), in coordination with Sogod MPS of Cebu Police Provincial Office (CPPO). Acting on a standing warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court, 7th Judicial Region, the operatives apprehended the suspect in Barangay Mahogany, San Remigio at approximately 8:20 PM. The court had previously ordered the arrest with no recommended bail for the crime of murder.

This successful operation was conducted as part of the intensified campaign against wanted persons, in line with the directive of the Chief, Philippine National Police, Police General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, to locate and apprehend fugitives nationwide. The suspect is now in the custody of Remigio MPS pending proper disposition.

“This operation is more than just an accomplishment on paper—it represents the kind of policing we owe our communities: proactive, persistent, and people-centered,” said PBGen Redrico A. Maranan, Regional Director of PRO-7.

“Behind every warrant served is a team that works beyond the call of duty. I commend our officers not just for making an arrest, but for reinforcing the public’s trust in our badge.” (PRO7-PIO)
