TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Philippines — Twenty-five beneficiaries from the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) communities of Baluncanag and Gaddangao in Rizal, Cagayan, have completed training in bread and pastry production, equipping them with skills for potential employment and livelihood opportunities.
The training was conducted at the Baluncanag Barangay Hall through the convergence efforts of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and member agencies of the Poverty Reduction, Livelihood and Employment Cluster (PRLEC).
TESDA Cagayan Provincial Director Genaro Ronald C. Ibay said the training is part of the government’s efforts to bring technical-vocational education and livelihood interventions closer to communities covered by E-CLIP.
During the completion ceremony, the graduates received their certificates, while qualified beneficiaries were also provided with Training Support Fund (TSF) assistance to help them pursue employment or livelihood opportunities.
Ibay encouraged the graduates to maximize the skills they acquired and turn them into sustainable sources of income for their families.
“Ang inyong natutunan ay hindi lamang certificate. Ito ay isang kasanayan na maaari ninyong gawing kabuhayan at oportunidad para sa inyong pamilya at komunidad,” Ibay said.
One of the scholars, Jaymelson T. Favor, said the training taught him the value of patience, passion and perseverance.
“This training means so much to me. Someday, I hope to use the skills I have learned here in my future career. Thank you for this opportunity,” Favor said.
Through the Bread and Pastry Production National Certificate II (BPP NC II) training, the beneficiaries developed competencies in preparing and producing bread and pastry products for employment or small-scale livelihood activities.
The activity also demonstrated the continuing collaboration among TESDA, local government units, and PRLEC member agencies in providing skills development and livelihood interventions to E-CLIP communities. (OTB/PDM/PIA Cagayan) Photo courtesy of TESDA Region II
