PGLU kick off Coop Month with Community Service

LA UNION, Philippines — A month of unity and service began as the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), through the Office of the Provincial Governor-Provincial Cooperative Development Office (OPG-PCDO), formally opened Cooperative Month 2026 with a kick-off program on October 2, 2026 in Brgy. Samara, Aringay, La Union.

Anchored on the theme “Matibay na Kooperatiba: Nagkakaisang Pamayanan para sa Kapayapaan at Kaunlaran,” the event highlights the role of cooperatives as dynamic partners in sustainable development.

Officers and members from 11 cooperatives, together with Philippine Coast Guard personnel, students of Samara Elementary School (SES) and Daycare Center, and residents joined in coconut tree planting, zumba, outreach program, medical, and dental mission. 200 students also received school supplies and snacks, while pre-loved clothes and souvenir items were distributed to interested participants, demonstrating the meaningful contribution of cooperatives to the well-being of Elyucanos.
