Didipio, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines — Sixteen Nutrition and Dietetics students from Quirino State University (QSU) have successfully completed a 300-hour hands-on training program at the OceanaGold Kitchen and Mess Hall Facility, under a continuing partnership between OceanaGold Phils. and the Didipio Community Corporation (DICORP). Throughout the program, the students moved beyond the classroom to apply their theoretical knowledge in a real-world catering environment. Under the guidance of experienced mentors from the camp’s catering services team, they gained practical exposure to customer service, food preparation, study and promote healthy food option, menu planning, food supply chain management, and other essential aspects of professional food service operations.

The initiative forms part of OceanaGold and DICORP’s ongoing commitment to community development, particularly in providing local youth with meaningful opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and practical experience that complement their academic pursuits.
