NUEVA VIZCAYA, Philippine — Nueva Vizcaya has been named the Most Outstanding Local Government Unit in Tourism Development in the Department of Tourism (DOT) Region 2’s first DAYAW: Regional Tourism Excellence Awards 2026.

The recognition was awarded to the Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya, led by Gov. Jose V. Gambito, for its initiatives in developing destinations, strengthening tourism promotion and supporting community-based tourism.

“Tourism remains one of our top priorities because it creates livelihood, brings investments and allows us to share the beauty, culture and identity of Nueva Vizcaya with more people,” Gambito said. “This recognition belongs to every Novo Vizcayano who contributes to making our province a destination worth visiting. We will continue to pursue tourism programs that are sustainable, inclusive and beneficial to our people.”

The Municipality of Kasibu also emerged as a major winner in the municipal category, receiving the Outstanding LGU in Tourism Development award and the Tourism Promotions and Media Excellence Award.

Gambito lauded the Provincial Tourism and Culture Office (PTCO), led by Provincial Tourism Officer Marichelle O. Costales, for its key role in the province’s tourism success.
