SAN SIMON, Pampanga — The North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Corporation announced that it has opened all three lanes (Southbound), particularly in the Tulaoc area in San Simon, Pampanga.

The toll operator fast-tracked dredging and clearing operations on Monday, September 7, and finished work one hour ahead of its intended completion time.

Since last week, it has been working double time to tackle the flood issues brought about by heavy rains (Habagat) that have made some portions of the superhighway to the North impassable, especially to Class 1 vehicles.

NLEX also pledged to continue managing traffic—even amidst ongoing rains—to prevent a recurrence of the flooding that previously occurred on the highway itself.

Measures such as the implementation of diversion staging areas and the issuance of motorist advisories will be carried out, alongside the deployment of response crews to Meycauayan, Paso de Blas, San Fernando, and Balintawak.

To further improve traffic management, their field personnel are maintaining continuous coordination with the DPWH, DOTr, Toll Regulatory Board, Northern Luzon Command, Philippine Coast Guard, and local government units in Pampanga.
