Punnok is performed after the traditional rice harvest at the mouth of the big river in Hungduan, Ifugao.
This is the last day ofHuowa after performing the Baki and Inom ritual.
All the natives from children, women, men to the elderly who are still strong are included in Punnok.
This involves a spirited tug-of-war or guyyudan, using rice stalk figure (Kina-ag) hooked with saplings (pakid).
Apart from Tugging men, women and children are also included in the guests.
There is traditional wrestling in the river and long diving.
It ends with the ceremonial tossing of the Kina-ag into the river, marking the completion of the harvest and the community’s hopes for the prosperity in the coming year.
