PRO7’s POLICING FORMULA DELIVER RESULTS
The Police Regional Office 7 has recorded a remarkable 52% drop in crime incidents from April 1 to 20, 2025, compared to the same period in 2024- underscoring the effectiveness of a proactive and innovative policing strategy.
According to data from the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) Crime Incident Recording and Analysis System (CIRAS), there were 91 fewer incidents recorded in the region’s eight focus crimes, dropping from 175 incidents in 2024 to 84 in 2025.
The notable decreases in focus crimes include theft, which declined by 28 incidents (39.44%), physical injury with a decrease of 26 incidents (54.17%), rape down by 20 incidents (74.07%), murder reduced by 7 incidents (58.33%), and homicide which decreased by 1 incident (50%).
The most significant progress has been observed in the Cebu Police Provincial Office (CPPO), which experienced a 63.29% reduction (from 79 to 29 incidents). The Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO) recorded a 60% decrease (from 35 to 14 incidents), while Lapu-Lapu City Police Office (LCPO) achieved an impressive 78.57% decrease (from 14 to 3 incidents).
The continuous implementation of PRO7 Regional Director’s peace and order operational formula -Enhanced Police Presence (EPP) + Quick Response Time (QRT) + Counteractions Against Drug Groups, Criminal Gangs, and Private Armed Groups (CADCP) = Safer Region 7 (SR7)-has played a vital role in this success.
This strategy directly aligns with the Chief PNP’s mantra,“Sa Bagong Pilipinas, Ang Gusto ng Pulis, Ligtas Ka!”.
Police Brigadier General Redrico A Maranan, Regional Director of PRO7, lauded the performance of all police units and the invaluable cooperation of the community.
“This significant reduction in crime demonstrates that strategic, accountable and innovative policing can lead to transformative outcomes. Our unwavering commitment to public safety, supported by community involvement and local government collaboration, is key to driving this positive change,” he remarked.
General Maranan further emphasized that ongoing efforts in enhancing patrols, optimizing response mechanisms, and fostering inter-agency coordination will be crucial to sustaining this positive trajectory in crime reduction and building public confidence.
