NAGA CITY, Philippines — The Philippine Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) has donated P5 million to the City Government of Naga for the construction of a community drug rehabilitation facility and youth hub.
The initiative contributes specifically to Targets No. 3 and 4 of Mayor Robredo’s “2028 Finish Lines” agenda: creating a walkable, orderly, and secure Naga, and promoting healthy and educated Nagueños.
DDB Undersecretary Earl Saavedra said the funding will strengthen the city’s programs toward maintaining a safe and drug-free community.
Saavedra emphasized that the Naga City Government is among the local government units (LGUs) in the country that actively campaign against illegal drugs while implementing programs designed to help drug dependents recover from substance abuse and rebuild their lives.
Saavedra noted that while all LGUs face challenges in combating illegal drugs, the sincere and collaborative efforts of local governments, communities, law enforcement agencies, and the judiciary continue to strengthen the campaign against illegal drugs, citing Naga City as a strong example. | via Jason B.
