The Provincial Budget Office of Nueva Vizcaya was named 2026 Performing Local Budget Office, highlighting its strict adherence to budgeting rules and its leadership in promoting transparent, accountable and efficient public finance management.
OIC Director IV Jose C. Pamittan of the Department of Budget and Management Regional Office No. 2 presented a Plaque of Recognition to the Provincial Budget Office during the awarding ceremony at the Crown Legacy Hotel on Aug. 25, 2026 in conjunction with the 2026 convention of the Regional Association of Local Budget Officers (RALBO) of Region 2. Acting Provincial Budget Officer Kristine B. Hernandez accepted the award on behalf of the office.
Nueva Vizcaya was the lone provincial budget office awardee in the regional search, receiving an overall rating ranging from 4.10 to 4.20.
The citation recognized the office for promoting good governance, ensuring effective and efficient public expenditure management, and complying with budgeting policies, rules and regulations.
Gov. Jose V. Gambito congratulated the PBO, attributing the honor to the team’s dedication to responsible governance and the collective commitment of the entire provincial government. “I congratulate the Provincial Budget Office headed by Ms Hernandez for being recognized as the lone provincial budget office awardee in Region 2. This distinction testifies to the team’s diligence and unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability and fiscal responsibility. It also reflects the collective commitment of the entire provincial government to responsible governance and quality public service,” Gambito said.
According to Gov Gambito , the recognition underscored the importance of effective budget administration in ensuring that government resources are properly managed and translated into meaningful programs and responsive services. He added that the award affirmed the provincial government’s commitment to ensuring that every peso in public funds is used efficiently and responsibly for the benefit of theNovo Vizcayanos.
Hernandez expressed gratitude to Gambito for his continued support of the Provincial Budget Office, saying the recognition reflected the collective efforts of the entire team. “This recognition reflects the dedication, commitment and hard work of the entire Provincial Budget Office team in fulfilling our mandate and continuously striving for excellence in local budget administration,” Hernandez said.
She also thanked the governor for his support and confidence in the office. “We sincerely thank Gov. Gambito for his continued support and encouragement to the Provincial Budget Office. His support has strengthened our efforts to fulfill our mandate and uphold excellence, transparency and accountability in local budget administration,” Hernandez said.
Hernandez added that the award belonged to all members of the office who work behind the scenes to ensure efficient and responsive public service. “This achievement belongs to every member of our team who works behind the scenes and remains committed to delivering quality and responsive public service,” she said.
