SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union, Philippines -Department of Health (DOH) Undersecretary Dr. Glenn Baggao paid a courtesy visit to Governor Mario Eduardo C. Ortega on January 21, 2026 at the Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union to discuss the alignment of national health initiatives with local programs that will further enhance the province’s overall healthcare system.

Gov. Mario warmly welcomed Usec. Baggao alongside the newly installed DOH Region I Officer-In-Charge Regional Director Dr. Pritchelle Tolentino and Provincial Health Officer Dr. Herminigildo Velasco.

Dr. Baggao cascaded the key healthcare programs and thrusts of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to Gov. Mario, geared toward the delivery of quality and accessible healthcare services to the constituents.

The discussions centered on the governor’s flagship health programs, plans on the new rehabilitation and mental health centers, and upgrading of district hospital services. Governor Mario also expressed his support for the full implementation of the Universal Healthcare Law in the province.
