NUEVA ECIJA, Philippines — The DILG Nueva Ecija, headed by Provincial Director Atty. Ofelio A. Tactac, Jr., CESO V, conducted the Building Excellence in Service and Transparency for Barangay (B.E.S.T.) Awarding Ceremony, at the Provincial Auditorium, Old Capitol Compound, Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija. on September 16.

The event was graced by DILG Regional Director Araceli A. San Jose, CESO III, and Provincial Administrator Atty. Jose Maria Ceasar C. San Pedro. In their respective messages, Regional Director San Jose, Provincial Director Tactac, and Provincial Administrator San Pedro emphasized the importance of sustaining good governance, transparency, accountability, and responsive public service at the barangay level.

The activity brought together Punong Barangays, Barangay Secretaries, and Local Chief Executives from the 91 participating barangays to celebrate their achievements in promoting good governance, transparency, and responsive public service.

The BEST Awarding Ceremony recognized barangays that demonstrated commitment to these principles and encouraged barangay officials to continuously strengthen their governance practices and improve the delivery of services to their constituents.

Through BEST, DILG Nueva Ecija continues to support barangays and local government units in fostering accountable, transparent, and people-centered governance.

The activity reaffirmed the collective commitment of barangay officials and local government leaders to advancing excellence in service and transparency toward stronger, more responsive, and accountable communities.
