

KABAYAN, Benguet, Philippines — As part of the Post Tour Activity of the Mountain Tourism Summit 2025, the Department of Tourism-Cordillera Administrative Region led participants on a meaningful climb to Mt. Pulag—the highest mountain in Luzon and the third highest in the Philippines.
Capping off the summit, the journey unfolded amid the Cordilleras’ majestic landscapes and rich biodiversity.
Hikers experienced a remarkable change of scenery along the trail, passing through towering pine forests, mystical mossy forests, and vast rolling grasslands, offering a deeper connection to one of the country’s most iconic peaks and the naturalbeauty that defines mountain tourism in the region.
Through this climb, participants gained firsthand appreciation of sustainable tourism, conservation efforts, and the vital role of local communities in protecting Mt. Pulag.
The experience highlighted the importance of shared responsibility in preserving the Cordillera’s treasured mountaindestinations for generations to come.
