Albay Vet Office leads farmers in Balut and Salted Egg production training

Legazpi City–  The Albay Veterinary Office (AVO) conducted a one-day training session for farmers on Balut and Salted Egg Production.

Aimed at enhancing economic opportunities and promoting sustainable agricultural practices in the region, AVO organized this training as part of the province’s ongoing efforts to boost animal raising and production ventures.

Thirty farmers from across the province completed the comprehensive training program, which was designed to improve their knowledge and skills in duck egg processing and management, offering innovative approaches to enhance their livelihoods.

Edgar Persebre, an agripreneur and owner-administrator of Palayamanayon ni Tiyo Edgar, led an in-depth session covering topics such as proper duck raising, egg selection and incubation, brine and solution preparation, candling, and harvesting and cooking.

The participants also engaged in a hands-on demonstration of balut and salted egg production, allowing them to apply their newly acquired skills.
