BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Three of the Summer Capital’s barangays earned regional recognition for their community-based dispute resolution efforts, with Barangay Abanao-Zandueta-Kayang-Chugum-Otek (AZKCO) emerging as the regional winner in the 2026 Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA) for highly urbanized cities.

Barangay San Vicente placed first runner-up, while Barangay Upper Rock Quarry finished second runner-up in the same category during the regional celebration of the 35th Local Government Month on October 20 at Newtown Plaza Hotel here .

Department of the Interior and Local Government-Baguio City Field Office (DILG-BCFO) head Millicent Carino congratulated the three barangays for their achievements, which recognize the role of local dispute resolution bodies in promoting justice and maintaining peace and harmony in their communities.

The awards were presented as part of the annual LTIA, which recognizes the work of Lupong Tagapamayapa in helping settle disputes at the barangay level.

The regional celebration carried the theme, “Tatag ng Pamahalaang Lokal; Alab ng Puso at Dangál,” highlighting the role of local governments in public service and community development.
