PRO 9 mobilizes over 5,355 forces to secure UNDAS 2026

Police Regional Office (PRO) 9, under the leadership of Police Brigadier General Elmer E Ragay, is ready to ensure a peaceful, safe, and orderly observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day through heightened police visibility, strategic personnel deployment, and intensified public safety operations across the Zamboanga Peninsula and Sulu Province.

As part of its preparations for UNDAS 2026, PRO 9 has mobilized a total of 5,355 personnel and force multipliers to support security operations across the Zamboanga Peninsula, covering 241 cemeteries, memorial parks, and columbaria where an influx of visitors is expected.

Of the total deployment, 3,415 are PNP personnel, who will be strategically assigned to Police Assistance Desks, checkpoints, mobile and foot patrols, and other security operations to deter criminal activities, facilitate traffic movement, manage crowds, and respond promptly to emergencies. They will be supported by 1,269 force multipliers, including Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams, local government unit personnel, and traffic enforcers, as well as 671 personnel from other units, to strengthen public safety and ensure the smooth delivery of assistance to the public throughout the Undas period.

In his message, PBGen Ragay emphasized the importance of vigilance, preparedness, and people-centered police service throughout the observance.

“Our primary responsibility is to ensure that every family can visit their departed loved ones in a peaceful, safe, and orderly environment. I have directed our personnel to remain alert, visible, and responsive at all times, and to extend courteous and immediate assistance to the public. We want our presence to provide not only security but also a sense of assurance and confidence to the people we serve,” PBGen Ragay said.

PRO 9 will also strengthen coordination with local government units, barangay officials, other government agencies, and force multipliers to ensure a unified approach to public safety. Police personnel will be strategically positioned in and around cemeteries, memorial parks, transportation terminals, major thoroughfares, and other public convergence areas to help prevent criminal incidents and ensure the smooth movement of people and vehicles.

The public is encouraged to remain vigilant, secure personal belongings, follow cemetery rules and traffic advisories, and immediately report suspicious activities to the nearest police personnel or assistance desk.

PRO 9 remains committed to delivering proactive, visible, and responsive police service to ensure that UNDAS 2026 is observed peacefully and safely throughout the region. In line with the Chief, PNP mantra, “Sa Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman,” (PIO, PRO 9)
