ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – A High Value Individual was apprehended in a buy-bust operation by personnel from Police Regional Office 9, after being caught with over P20 million worth of suspected shabu at Calle Real, Barangay Mercedes, Zamboanga City, on October 7.
PBGen Elmer Ragay,regional director, identified the arrested alias ‘Kah’, 30, a resident of Gata Talipao, Sulu, and listed as a High Value Individual.
According to Ragay, at around 3:55 PM, an operation against the suspect was conducted by the personnel of the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 9, led by Capt. Vincent Perez, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 9, Naval Intelligence and Security Group–Western Mindanao, PNP Drug Enforcement Group, 1st Special Operations Unit, Maritime Group, 904th Regional Mobile Force Battalion 9, Zamboanga City Maritime Police Station, PNP Special Action Force, and Zamboanga City Police Station (ZCPS) 4—on Calle Real, Barangay Mercedes, Zamboanga City.
The operation resulted in the seizure of three heat-sealed transparent plastic packs containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu—weighing approximately three kilos and with an estimated Standard Drug Price of ₱20,400,000.00 confiscated from the suspect.
The confiscated drugs will be taken to the Regional Forensic Unit 9 for quantitative and qualitative analysis. The suspect will be taken to the ZCPS4 detention facility for safe custody.
