BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — The City Government has received technical assistance outputs from the United Kingdom under the Green Cities, Infrastructure and Energy Programme (GCIEP), marking a significant step toward improving the Summer Capital’s water security and governance initiatives.
These include the Baguio Bulk Water Supply Feasibility Study and the ISO 37001 Anti-Bribery Management System Roadmap, both of which are expected to support the city’s efforts to enhance public service delivery, strengthen transparency, and promote sustainable urban development.
Mayor Benjamin Magalong said the feasibility study will help advance the city’s long-term goal of achieving a more resilient and reliable water supply system in partnership with the Baguio Water District (BWD) and other development partners.
The significant milestone aims to provide a continuous water supply to approximately 260,000 residents, addressing one of Baguio’s longstanding infrastructure challenges while supporting future growth.
Mayor Magalong stressed that the anti-bribery management roadmap reinforces the city’s commitment to good governance and accountability in public service.
He thanked the British Embassy in Manila and the city’s development partners for their continued support and collaboration, saying the partnership contributes to building a more resilient, well-prepared, and prosperous Baguio. (Gaby B. Keith with CMO report)
