LA TRINIDAD, Benguet, Philippines — Talented contestants from the various barangays of the municipality showed their skills in the vegetable carving and plating and vegetable art centerpiece competition on July 13, as part of the week-long celebration of the 8th Highland vegetable Industry Week until July 18.

Adjudged as top winner for the vegetable art centerpiece is Reynaldo Pinos-an of Barangay Shilan with a total score of 90 percent while Jonalyn Mangeg of Barangay Puguis won first place in the vegetable carving and plating with a total score of 92 percent.

All the 10 participants shall receive their cash prizes during the closing program of the event on July 17.

The competition is organized by the event committee led by Municipal Agriculturist Nida Organo in partnership with the League of Associations at the La Trinidad Vegetable Trading Post, among other institutions and private organizations.

Visit the municipal gymnasium for other activities such as skills demonstrations and workshops as part of the annual event, which brings to the forefront the highland vegetable industry in Benguet’s central town.
